Follow me to Helsinki

Being able to celebrate Valentine’s Day in a different city every year, was such a blessing.

It all started when we booked our first Valentine’s Day vacation to Budapest out of spontaneity. And the rest, they say, is history. On our second Valentine’s Day, we were in Barcelona for a few days of tapas and sunshine. And so, to continue our annual tradition, we decided to visit somewhere new — Helsinki.

While not exactly the most romantic place to be in, Finland has surprised us in every (nice) way possible – it’s trendy, creative and beautiful. I think we should have spent a longer time in this metropolis, simply because we fell in love with the food, people, design, and lifestyle. The Finns are very warm, sincere, and not to mention, incredibly good-looking – some with blonde hair & blue eyes. Being one of the biggest coffee consumers in the world, they sure do love a good cup of coffee, which explains why the café scene in Helsinki is so vibrant (and still growing!)

Our only regret would be not having a chance to explore Suomenlinna. So, if you have the luxury of time, definitely check it out!

For any of you looking to visit, I hope these recommendations help!
